Manchester United forward has cleared the airwave surrounding a out of pitch war of words with fans during the Manchester United Vs Liverpool yesterday.
Lingard was spotted reacting to Manchester United fans during Sunday’s 5-0 defeat to Liverpool while warming up at the sidelines. Supporters booed the players off the pitch at half-time while some made their way towards the exit, failing to return for the second half.
In a video recorded from the stands, Lingard, an unused substitute, is seen warming up by the corner flag while supporters shout towards him.
During the five-second clip, the England international points at himself while looking at the fans and appears to say “I’m not on the pitch” before returning to watch the game.
Lingard has struggled to get minutes for the Red Devils this season, with Solskjaer preferring a number of attacking players following the arrivals of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho in the summer.
The England international spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham United and impressed. He was linked with a permanent move to the London Stadium in the summer and has recently been mentioned as possible target for Newcastle United.
